Erholung
Erholung is a residential retreat designed to dissolve the boundary between indoor comfort and the raw beauty of the Norwegian fjords. Rooted in Scandinavian minimalism, the home features expansive glazing, warm timber cladding, and open-plan living spaces that frame the surrounding mountains and still waters like living paintings.
A quiet dialogue between shelter and scenery
The design process was guided by a deep respect for the site — its light, terrain, and seasonal shifts. Rather than imposing form, the architecture was shaped by the landscape, using low profiles, natural materials, and restrained details. Timber, stone, and concrete were chosen for their honesty and aging potential, ensuring the building becomes more embedded in its setting over time.
